August 13th from 6:30pm to 11:00pm, Cercle Laurier on East School Street, Woonsocket. Come out & Rock Out with Hearts with Hope Inc., Lucas Diablo, Metal Godz, and Rhody for an amazing cause and helping fellow Novans in Need. Hearts with Hope Inc. is a non-profit organizati­on dedicated to helping Woonsocket High School Alumni in times of need due to a life-altering event. Donated funds have gone to assist: displaced fire victims, funeral expenses, medical bills, etc. Each year we hold events that culminate in over $10,000 donated annually. Any money raised from this event is earmarked for approved applicatio­ns of Alumni or their family members

that are battling cancer or have battled cancer. This event will be under the outside pavilion and is RAIN OR SHINE! We will be having raffles and a 50/50 raffle. Tickets are $20.00 per person.

• Blackstone River Valley National Historical Park Hosts Special World War II Program Commemorat­e the Blackstone Valley’s involvemen­t in World War II during a special program hosted at the Whitin Mill in Whitinsvil­le, MA, on Sunday, August 14, 2022. Presented in partnershi­p with Open Sky Community Services, Battleship Cove, and the Museum of Work and Culture. How did workers in the Blackstone Valley contribute to the war effort during World War II? Explore exhibits on manufactur­ing,

see uniforms from the 1940s, and learn the story of the Ghost Army Tank. There will be short lectures at 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM and a chance to connect with veterans from the war. Activities will be available for kids throughout the day. This event will also include a station with informatio­n on access to public lands. Rangers will have America the Beautiful and Federal Recreation­al Land passes available for veterans and active-duty military personnel. The Whitin Mill is located at 50 Douglas Rd., Whitinsvil­le. Runs from 11 AM – 3 PM, free of charge. There will be plenty of free parking and accessible spaces.

• The Pawtucket Public Library is proud to present a special story time in two of Pawtucket’s public parks. A Pawtucket librarian will host story time at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Fairlawn on August 2nd at 1:30. There will be stories and songs while enjoying the outdoors. The Pawtucket Public Library Bookmobile will be there for browsing and checking out materials from 2-3pm. • The announced line-up for the 2022 Levitt AMP Woonsocket Music Series follows: 8/5 – Gina Chavez (Pop): This multi-ethnic, Austin, TX native is a Latin pop artist who is redefining Latin music in Texas and beyond.

• The Rhode Island Folk Festival is returning to Rose Larisa Park in East Providence, RI on Sunday August 28. The free music festival includes some of the finest folk, rock, acoustic and Americana acts in Rhode Island and beyond. The 2022 festival features critically acclaimed artists like Jake Blount, Robin Lane, and The Fools. Local musicians including Mark Cutler, Julie Rhodes, Sidy Maiga, and Beauquet are also among over 50 acts who will be performing. The festival features three stages of music, food trucks, and craft vendors. Formerly known as the Providence Folk Festival, RIFF is a project of Hear in RI, and is produced by RI singer-songwriter John Fuzek. Board President, performer, and “Songbird Stage” host Allysen Callery is looking forward to celebratin­g some of the region’s best music.
