Holiday gifts make a big difference

As you make your holiday gift list, remember local pet shelters. You can donate dollars and items, or volunteer time and talents. “There are many ways to help us build our shelter,” says Pamela Aubuchon, director for the Cape Coral Animal Shelter and medical clinic that’s scheduled to open next spring near Lake Kennedy. Check the shelter’s website to arrange a donation or pledge plan, to donate building supplies and to volunteer or receive a digital newsletter. The shelter’s first golf fundraiser is planned for Nov. 18 at Coral Oaks Golf Course in the Cape. Sponsors, single players and foursomes are welcome. And there’s a 5K event scheduled for Dec. 9.
