Davidson, North Carolina - Gary Joseph Bromberger, of Davidson, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2024, at age 70 after a four-year battle with cancer.

Gary was a lover of adventure and trying new things with his wife, Nancy Kelly. He excelled in retirement, whether playing pickleball, sailing, taking guitar lessons, learning how to throw pottery, becoming a Master Gardener, or playing bridge, he was never short for activities.

Prior to retiring in Davidson, Gary spent his career in corporate real estate working around the world, including several years of living and working with Nancy in Thailand, followed by frequent travel to Hong Kong, India and Mexico City. In retirement, Gary and Nancy continued their travels with trips to Yellowston­e National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Paris (on several occasions) and the Swiss Alps.

While raising their only son, Ross Bromberger, who was Gary’s regular activities partner, their time was filled with weekend trips to Bald Head Island aboard a series of boats, cooking complex meals, golfing, and watching Mad Money.

A native of Weston, Massachuse­tts, he is predecease­d in death by his parents, Joseph and Barbara Bromberger.

Gary is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy Kelly, his son, Ross Bromberger, daughter-in-law, Hannah Bromberger, grandson Reece Bromberger, and sister, Audrey Soderberg.

A memorial service will be held at Selwyn Avenue Presbyteri­an Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, at noon on May 2, 2024. The service will be followed by a reception at The Jimmy.
