Final weekend for stalking corn mazes in the region

Aw, shucks, the season is coming to an end for the area’s corn mazes. But you still have one more weekend to pop in. Here are five places around the region said to be outstandin­g in their field.

GUTHRIE PUMPKIN FARM & CORN MAZE

Where: 490 County Road 67, Riceville, Tenn.

Hours: Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch open 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 28-29; 1-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30.

Activities: Corn maze, hayride to pumpkin field, petting barn, obstacle course, hippity- hop track, adult and child tricycles, duck races, tractor dig, redneck horseshoes.

Night frights: Shocktober Nights, featuring redneck zombie paintball and a haunted trail, open 7-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 28-29 (last ticket sold at 10 p.m.).

Admission: Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch, $10 ages 13 and up, $8 children 3-12 (tax included). Shocktober Nights, $16.50, includes paintball guns and ammo.

MAYFIELD CORN MAZE & PUMPKIN PATCH

Where: 257 Highway 307, Athens, Tenn. Two children enter the Mayfield Corn Maze together. Last day for the Athens, Tenn., attraction is Monday, Oct. 31.

Hours: Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch open 9 a. m.- 4 p. m. today and Friday, Oct. 27-28; 11 a.m.9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29; 1-7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30; 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31 ( last tickets sold one hour before closing).

Activities: Kiddie ziplines, three corn mazes, hayrides, pumpkin patch, hillbilly pig races, slides, cow train, pedal cars, hay jump, corn boxes, tractor tire playground, cornhole.

Night frights: Haunted Trail open 7:30-11 p.m. Friday-Monday, Oct. 28-31.

Admission: Grounds, corn maze and hayride are free to children up to age 2 (but they still need a ticket), $8 children 3-10, $11 ages 11-adults; Haunted Trail, $13.

OCOEE RIVER MAZE

Where: 1371 High- way 64, Ocoee, Tenn.

Hours: 5- 9: 30 p. m. Friday, Oct. 28; 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29; 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30.

Activities: Corn maze, pumpkin patch, soybean maze, hayrides, jump pad, slides, corn cannons, cow train, cornhole, tire swings, face painting, river walkway.

Special event: Costume Day; prizes awarded at 5 p.m.

Admission: $10 ages 3 and older; extra charge for some activities.

Activities: Corn maze, critter corral, pedal carts, cow train, hayride, duck races, corn slingshots and corn crib (each requires one token per person).

Admission: $10 ages 4 and up ( includes four activity tokens); extra charge for some activities.
