FAFF is in its 6th year of offering a weekend of horror movies, music, comedy and art

The Frightenin­g Ass Film Festival hits year six on Saturday, Oct. 29, with a full day of horror movies, guest directors, music, a comedy show and art exhibit.

Organizer Chris Dortch, executive director of the Chattanoog­a Film Festival and Mise En Scenesters, reminisces online about how, in such a short time, “the scope and scale of our FAFF- ery got bigger and better and more frightenin­g.”

That includes five feature films on the Cine-Rama big screen.

To set the mood before the Frightenin­g Ass Film Festival gets underway, organizers will offer a showing of “Evolution” at 8: 30 p. m. Friday, Oct. 28. The film centers on 10-year- old Nicolas, who lives with his mother on a remote island inhabited solely by women and young boys, and the questions he begins asking about the mysterious medical treatment the boys are subjected to. Tickets are $ 10.
