Saturday & Sunday on Signal beckons shoppers to mountain this weekend

Signal Mountain’s biggest shopping event of the year, Saturday & Sunday on Signal, returns this weekend.

Now more than 30 years old, the event gives shoppers a jump-start for checking off names on their holiday gift lists in stores packed with merchandise and adorned in seasonal decor.

Hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, and 1-6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13.

Shoppers may visit any or all of the businesses. However, those taking part in a postcard promotion must visit at least one business in each of four zones to be eligible to win one of the grand prizes, gift cards worth $100 and $50. Once the card is stamped in each zone, the shopper leaves it with the last merchant for the drawing.

Postcards were delivered to Signal Mountain mailboxes in late October, but they’ll also be available at any participating merchant for nonresidents.

Some participating businesses have announced special promotions for the weekend.

ZONE 1

› Balanced Studio, 712 Mississippi Ave. › Bud Floral & Home, 716 Mississippi Ave. ( build your own terrarium). › Hummingbird Pastaria, 720 Mississippi Ave. (will be closed Sunday). › Yessick’s on Signal, 813 Ridgeway Ave. (20 percent off all Christmas decor, 15 percent off storewide).

ZONE 2 All at Signal Plaza, 1238 Taft Highway.

› Accents ( grab a Hershey’s Kiss; the color of the foil wrapping determines the discount of 10, 20 or 30 percent). › All Creatures Great & Small ( save 10 to 30 percent off purchase). › Cutting Corners Framing Art & Gift Shop (draw a discount at the register). › Pruett’s Signal Mountain Market (free Mayfly coffee or hot chocolate and soup from soup bar).

ZONE 3 All at Signal Crossing, 1027 Taft Highway.

› Guthrie’s Restaurant (buy any meal, get a second of equal or lesser value 50 percent off). › Mountain Top Toys (discounts up to 30 percent off or a free stocking stuffer from the Basket of Wonderful Stuff). › Threads ( free monogramming).

› Chattanooga Jewelry Co. › The Freckled Peddler ($10 gift card with any $50 purchase).
