EG Kight set for solo acoustic show at Chattanooga Billiard Club East

-

It’s been a busy couple of years for singer, songwriter, guitar player and photographer EG Kight, with more accolades, more touring and a book deal in the works. After recently performing in six states in four weeks, she’s bringing her solo acoustic show back to the Tropicana Room, inside Chattanooga Billiard Club East, on Saturday, Dec. 10.

Last year found Kight with a Blues Music Awards nomination for Best Traditional Female Artist, and she was named one of the Top 5 Best Blues Artists of 2014. This year Kight was honored with a 2016 Independent Blues Award nomination for Best Female Artist and had two of her original songs land on Shaun Murphy’s new release. Murphy, best known as the former lead singer for Little Feat, currently tours with Bob Seger.

Considered a true blues vocalist, Kight was nicknamed the “Georgia Songbird” early on in her career. Over the last several years, she has had songs on three major TV networks and recently placed five songs in a movie to be released this year. It should come as no surprise then that Kight was asked to help launch the Explore Georgia Songwriter Series, featuring successful songwriters, for the tourism division of the Georgia Department of Economic Development.

With more songs to write, more shows to perform and a book to finish, Kight continues to forge ahead. And she says she wanted to bring a final show to her fans in Chattanooga before the end of the year.

Kight’s s hows are equal parts blues, country, Americana, Southern rock, jazz, gospel and funk. Georgia Music Magazine noted t hat Kight is “… a gentle and elegant woman who manages to channel Southern charm, sophistication and a fierce passion into one tremendously intoxicating voice.”
