On Pancake Day, eat a short stack, help a child

Five local IHOP restaurants will be serving up free short stacks of buttermilk pancakes on Tuesday, March 7, otherwise known as National Pancake Day. For every short stack of buttermilk pancakes served between 7 a. m. and 10 p. m., customers are invited to make a voluntary donation to T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital at Erlanger, which annually serves 100,000 patients from 16 counties in the region.

“Last year, our local IHOP l ocations raised more t han $ 7, 200 f or Children’s Hospital at Erlanger,” says Rebecca Brinkley, director of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at Children’s Hospital at Erlanger. “We are so appreciative of their hard work and continued support as we focus on raising funds for the first phase of our new Children’s Hospital.”

Nationally, IHOP’s signature day of giving supports three charities that serve children battling critical illnesses, including Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Local donations go to Children’s Hospital, which is in the midst of a fundraising drive to build a new $ 35 million outpatient center.

Participating I HOP restaurants also are selling wall icon “Miracle Balloons” for $1 and $5 to benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. All proceeds will go to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Since 2006, I HOP National Pancake Day has raised some $24 million to provide life- saving treatment, programs and medical equipment for pediatric patients.
