See storybook characters ‘knightly’ at attraction
Journey into the onceupon- a- time kingdom of Fairyland at Rock City, when the Lookout Mountain attraction hosts Fairytale Nights beginning Friday, March 24, through Sunday, April 16.
Once f amilies pass through Rock City’s castle gates onto the Enchanted Trail they will encounter magical storybook characters among the twists and turns of the garden’s paths. Cinderella, Fairy Godmother, Prince Charming, Jack of beanstalk fame, Hansel and Gretel and an evil queen will all be there. New characters joining them this season: Peter Pan, Wendy Darling, Captain Hook and Mr. Smee.
Another new addition that’s “just right:” an interactive story time with Goldilocks and the Three Bears on weekends.
Children are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite character. They can train to be a knight by scaling a castle wall, learning sword fighting or basic archery. Concession venues in Rock City will theme food and drinks to the promotion, such as dragon-wing stew at the Beast’s Castle, A Fairy Godmother frappuccino at Starbucks or Fairy Fizz punch at Cafe 7.
Rock City is partnering with Emily’s Power for a Cure Neuroblastoma Foundation during Fairytale Nights to raise awareness of pediatric cancer and raise funds to find a cure for neuroblastoma. EPFAC was founded by Wendy and Jonathan Ransom in memory of their 2-year-old daughter who lost her life to this rare cancer.
