Area retailers mark Independent Book Store Day with events
Star Line Books, 1467 Market St., will be among 400 book stores nationwide celebrating Independent Book Store Day on Saturday, April 29. Several in-house events have been planned at Star Line between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday. All are free.
› 11 a.m. 75th anniversary of Little Golden Book story hour. › 11:30 a.m. Make your own Little Golden Book. › 1 p.m. Reading with Hannah Rials, author of “Ascension.” › 3 p.m. Reading with David Connis, author of the upcoming young adult novel, “Temptation of Adam.”
› 3:30 p.m. Music with David Conni s , from “Looking for Eden,” the accompany ing album to “Te m p - tation of Adam.” › 4: 30- 6 p. m. Wine and Words literary games for ages 21 and older.
In addition, there will be a photo booth, refreshments, art projects, a book- store scavenger hunt, swag bags for the first 10 customers who come in the store that day, hourly raffles and limited-edition books.

i ng: Owner Danielle Hargis is offering a sales discount to mark Independent Book Store Day.
Customers who buy one to four books, new or used, will get 20 percent off their total purchase. Buy f ive to nine books and get 30 percent off; 10 or more and the discount will be 40 percent.
