Creative Arts Guild, Ballet Dalton present two days of dance recitals

- STAFF REPORT

FRIDAY-SATURDAY

The Creative Arts Guild and Ballet Dalton will present their spring dance concert, “12 Dancing Princesses and Other Magical Moments,” in three performances this weekend in Dalton High Schools’s theater, 1500 Manly St., Dalton, Ga. On Friday, May 12, at 7 p.m., Ballet Dalton, Intermediate 3s, Intermediate 4s, Hip-Hop Dance Crew and the Guild Dance Ensemble will perform with a reception honoring the dancers to follow. All dancers enrolled in Creative Arts Guild’s Dance Program will perform in recitals on Saturday, May 13, at 1 and 4 p.m. in the Dalton High School theater. This year’s recital has been given a makeover to include the magical and beloved short story, “The 12 Dancing Princesses.” Jessie Fincher, CAG dance director, says the story has been a favorite of hers since childhood. “The magical elements included in the story and, of course, the fact that the princesses are dancing through their shoes each night, made this one a really fun story to capture,” says Fincher. The Friday evening concert includes only upper-school students while the recitals on Saturday include students of all ages. Tickets for the Friday night concert are $15 for adults and $10 for students and senior citizens. Tickets for the Saturday recitals are $5 each. Tickets are available f or purchase through the Creative Arts Guild website and remaining tickets will be available at the door the day of the show.
