Summer Music Weekends starting at Rock City

Matt Downer, The OldTime Traveler is one of five acts that will play toe-tapping bluegrass, modern or folk/country music during Summer Music Weekends. They launch Friday, May 26, and continue through Labor Day, Sept. 4, at Rock City Gardens, 1400 Patten Road on Lookout Mountain.

Visitors will be entertaine­d Fridays through Sundays and on holidays by Downer, Highbeams, Amber Carrington, Martin & Durham and Tarryn Aimee Smith. Performanc­es are on the hour from 9 a. m. to 2 p. m., as well as 3:30, 5 and 6:15 p.m.

In addition to enjoying the beauty of the gardens, activities will i nclude Walking in Frieda’s Footsteps Tour, making Aunt Frieda’s firefly jars and a Birds of Prey Show.

Rock City is open 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. Admission is $22.95 adults, $12.95 children ages 3 to 12. For more informatio­n, call 706-820-2531.
