Rainsville gospel celebration honors Leeth
Three regional gospel groups will gather in Rainsville, Ala., on Saturday, June 3, to help Rejeana Hearn Leeth celebrate 48 years in the gospel music industry.
Leeth sings tenor, alto and harmony on gospel numbers. She is currently a member of New Grace Southern Gospel Group.
The celebration in her honor will be held from 6 to 8 p. m. CST at Tom Bevill Enrichment Center, 115 Main St. in Rainsville. There is a suggested donation of $ 10 per person ages 7 and older.
A barbecue dinner will be held prior to the singing at 4 p. m. There is a $5 per person charge for dinner.
Appearing at the evening show will be The Greesons along with Exodus and Surrendered.
The Greesons, now made up of second- and third- generation family members, have been performing for 25 years. Karen Greeson operates Son-Shine Christian Bookstore in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.
If you can’t get to Rainsville on Saturday night, The Greesons are singing in Chattanooga on Sunday, June 4, at One Accord Community Church’s homecoming. The service starts at 10:30 a.m. The church is located at 343 Sweetland Drive.
Surrendered is the Southern gospel trio of Russell Wise, Tiffany Hamilton and Joseph Reed based in Gadsden, Ala. They formed in spring 2015. The trio’s recent single, “I’ve Been To the Well,” spent two months in the top 40 nationwide.
Mike Watson, Susan Brady, Mary Scott and Cole Watson make up Exodus. Their families have attended the same church, Higher Ground Baptist in Gadsden, for many years.
