Make. Play. Read. Learn at a library this summer
Chattanooga Public Library kicks off its summer reading, activity series
All Chattanooga Public Library branches are holding a party Saturday, June 3, at 2 p.m. It’s the kickoff of the library’s Make Play Read Learn summer learning program, which expands the former summer reading program to help children avoid slipping into a summer slide during the weeks before the new school year begins.
Families can register for the summer program at any library branch or the accompanying list of registration partners. When families register, they will be given a Make. Play. Read. Learn passport filled with 26 activities to do this summer. Fill your activity passport by visiting new places and trying new things.
Families may complete as many activity suggestions as they wish; but the more completed, the more chances they have to win prizes. A closing program celebrating these summer readers and learners will be held Saturday, July 29.
Library branches will hold MPRL events over the next eight weeks with topics such as Awesome Authors, Wow Wednesdays, Junior Historians, Full STEAM Ahead, Explorers and Cooking on 2.
