Three musical events set in Crossville
Three concert opportunities are scheduled this holiday weekend in Crossville, Tenn.
TODAY, JUNE 29: CUMBERLAND COUNTY COMMUNITY BAND CONCERT
Where: Stone Memorial High School, 2800 Cook Road, Crossville When: 7 p.m. CDT Admission: Free Phone: 931-707-8174 The Cumberland County Community Band celebrates the nation’s birthday with an Americana concert. It will include a military salute and traditional patriotic music.
FRIDAY, JUNE 30: THE WHITINGS PRESENT “NASHVILLE TO VAUDEVILLE”
Where: The Palace Theatre, 72 S. Main, Crossville When: 7 p.m. CDT
Admission: $6 or $12 Phone: 931-484-6133 Tammy a nd Ja mes Whiting present a comedy-musical revue featuring her soulful contralto voice with his piano skills. Their show includes high-energy swing, scatting, standup comedy and singing in harmony. They will be joined by jazz saxophonist Frank Saxton.

Whiting the greats of the stage: Burns and Allen, Abbott and Costello, Ella Fitzgerald, Count Basie, Judy Garland, George Gershwin, W.C. Handy, Jelly Roll Morton, Ma Rainey, Red Skelton, Bessie Smith and Fats Waller.
