Killough plays Cotton Belt music in Mentone

Singer-songwriter Rock Killough performs “Cotton Belt music” — a fusion of blues, country, gospel and comedy with a touch of rock ’n’ roll — on Saturday, July 22, at Kamama Gallery, 5951 Highway 117 in downtown Mentone, Ala. The free show begins at 6 p.m. CDT.

Killough plays guitar, piano and harmonica. His concert is sponsored by the Little River Arts Council.

Originally from Alabama, Killough spent 10 years in Nashville, where his songs were recorded by Randy Travis, Brenda Lee, Oak Ridge Boys, Hank Williams Jr., Sammy Kershaw, Waylon Jennings, Jerry Reed, Carole King, Jerry Jeff Walker and Johnny Rodriguez. He has opened concerts for Willie Nelson, John Prine and Townes Van Zandt.
