First Friday concerts in North Georgia towns
Two North Georgia towns are holding free First Friday concerts on Friday, Aug. 4. Bring your folding chairs and settle in for these outdoor musical events.
Dyna Groove, a fourpiece ensemble f rom Atlanta, will entertain vis- itors to Friday Night Live in Summerville.
Festivities will be held at the open- air plaza, 37 East Washington St., from 6 to 10 p.m. Street vendors will be set up at the site.
The concert will begin at 8 p.m. In the event of rain, the concert will be held inside Summerville train depot.
Susan Locklear, executive director of sponsoring Summerville Main Street, says that for every $10 a shopper spends at a participating downtown business on Friday, the customer will receive a registration form that may be entered into a drawing for $50 in Downtown Dollars.
Visitors should plan to arrive early in order to check out Highway 27 yard sale booths in Dowdy Park. Those vendors are participating in this weekend’s World’s Longest Yard Sale.

Chastain & McKissick will play original music and cover songs at Chickamauga’s First Friday block party.
Gordon Street in downtown Chickamauga will close to traffic at 6 p.m. before the show begins at 7, continuing until 10 p.m.
