‘Elevate’ displays best work of 24 artists
Friday reception opens new show at Townsend Atelier
Twenty-four artists are participating in an invitational exhibit that opens Friday, Nov. 3, at Townsend Atelier in the Arts Building, 301 E .11 th St.
The exhibit, Elevate, features the works of artists who have participated in a monthly critique program facilitated by Mia Bergeron at Townsend Atelier.
A reception for the public to view the work is scheduled for 5: 308:30 p.m. Friday, Nov .3. The exhibit will remain on view through Dec. 2. Works will be available for purchase.
Exhibiting artists are Meg Aiken, Timur Akhriev, Elizabeth Allen, Cheryl Arnol d , Mia Bergeron, Hollie Berry, Lori Bower, Barbara Brogdon, Lisa Caldwell, Jean Coker, Ann Currey and Danielle Damson.
Also, Kate Dilworth, Brandi Donan, Martha Elder, James Courtenay James, Shelli Langdale, John McLeod, Phoebe Mills, Priscilla Priestly, Cindy Procious, Cheryl Rogers, Dave Salerno and Leah Salerno.
“For the past several years, artists have brought their work to Townsend Atelier for monthly critiques to get feedback, support and technical advice from their facilitator, Bergeron, and from each other,” says Peggy Townsend.
“Elevate speaks to the act of each artist elevating and supporting one another as well as constantly elevating and improving their own artwork.”
Each artist submitted up to three works for consideration for the show, which was curated by Townsend Atelier and Bergeron.
