Outlaw country show opens new year at Revelry Room
Three regional bands will combine for one outlaw country show when Revelry Room hosts “Off the Rails with Backwater Still, Randy Woody and Tyson Leamon and the White Line Drifters” on Saturday, Jan. 6, at 9 p.m.
Backwater Still headlined its first show at Revelry last June. The band — whose covers cross multiple genres — is made up of Shannon Dunn, guitar and lead vocals; Terry Crumley, vocals; Daniel Fowler, bass; Ray Haggard, guitar and vocals; and David Daugherty, drums.
Dunn and Haggard have played music together since they were teenagers. Haggard, Fowler and Dunn were all students at Ridgeland High School together. Fowler joined the band about 10 years ago
Tyson Leamon grew up in Riceville, Tenn., in a family where music was passed down from generation to generation. He began singing in church and later sang with a family quartet known as Legacy.
He and high- school friend Brandon Hall formed their first band singing contemporary Christian music. Their sound evolved into a heavy- hitting Christian rock band, Temporary Residents.
After high school, Leamon sang with Southern gospel trio Heirline,

Randy Woody of Sweetwater, Tenn., began writing music at age 9 and has been fronting Southbound for 12 years.
All of Southbound’s members live in Monroe County: Woody, Jason Harris, Jeff Gantt and Mark Barnhart. Together they have gained a reputation as a premier country music dance, party and show band since forming in 2006.
Southbound has worked with Heidi Newfield of trick Pony, Joey & Rory, David Allan Coe, Gretchen Wilson, Trent Tomlinson, Kentucky Headhunters and even Luke Bryan when he was at the Tennessee Valley Fair in Knoxville.
