Take Mom on a Ghost Walk

If you’re looking for a fun and adventurou­s gift for Mother’s Day, search no more.

Dalton Ghost Tours is opening its 15th season with a special offer for mothers: free admission for ghost tours on Friday and Saturday, May 11-12, at 8 p.m. The family can spend time with Mom exploring the city’s paranormal hot spots and hearing true tales of terror sure to send chills up and down their spines. All other guests on the walks will pay $15.

An experience­d tour guide will l ead these “spirited” 90- minute tours, pointing out some of the places written about in Connie HallScott’s book, “Haunted Dalton, Georgia.”

Tours will visit sites of hangings and lynchings, and learn the tale of the fireman who perished inside Dalton Little Theatre. Then there’s the giggling ghost children and the lady in white at the historic Wink Theatre, the mischievou­s gambler who met his end at the bottom of a staircase inside a speakeasy and the active spirit of a young woman who took her life at Hotel Dalton.

After Mother’s Day weekend, t ours will be offered on Saturday nights at 8 o’clock t hrough S e pte mber; and on Friday and Saturday nights at 8 during t he month of October. Upcoming special events and guests will be announced on t he Dalton Ghost Tours Facebook page.

Tour parti c i pants should meet at the wooden deck directly across the street from the Wink Theatre on West Crawford Street in downtown Dalton.

Admission is $15 ages 6 and older. Tickets will be available from 6 to 8 p.m. at the deck on Fridays and Saturdays. Signed copies of “Haunted Dalton, Georgia” will be sold on- site.
