Bridal expo in Miller Plaza on Sunday

- BY SUSAN PIERCE STAFF WRITER

A bridal expo designed with more of a festival atmosphere than a traditional bridal fair will take place Sunday afternoon, July 29, in Miller Plaza and in Waterhouse Pavilion.

Bobby Prince, director of operations with sponsor Events Chattanooga, says although his event- planning company has done bridal shows in Knoxville and Nashville, this will be its first Chattanooga bridal event. And the company is already planning a fall follow-up.

“It’s going to be a really big show,” Prince says of Sunday’s indoor- outdoor bridal show. “We quickly outgrew the original plan of a small summer show.”

Prince says about 75 wedding professionals representing all aspects of wedding planning will be on-site to answer questions from engaged couples. Brides- to- be can comparison shop in one convenient location.

What makes t his show different from previous bridal fairs will be its easy- going atmosphere, he says.

“It’s a festival- like setting. We’ll have cornhole boards and Giant Jenga, so it’s very relaxing. We will give away baskets provided by vendors in the show on the hour,” he says. There will also be $200 gift cards to bridalregistry.com given away.

Music will be provided during the afternoon by musical vendors demonstrating their wedding services.

Prince says bridal fashion shows will take place at 2 and 4 p.m.

There is no admission, but guests must register in advance online at www.eventschattanooga.com.
