CAMPUS CONCERTS
Performances on the campuses of area universities offer a diverse range of music from David Huff’s Latin mass written in 1999 to a percussion ensemble to an audience sing-along of classic hymns of faith.
CHATTANOOGA STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Chattanooga State Concert Choir will present David Huff’s Requiem on Friday, Oct. 18, at 7:30 p.m.
The free concert features performances by Chattanooga State students, faculty and members of the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera.
The seven-movement Latin mass was written by Huff, a North Carolinian, in 1999.
Prior to the concert, the Chattanooga State Alumni Association will hold a reception in the Humanities lobby beginning at 5:30 p.m. For information about the Alumni Association event: 423-697-2630.
SOUTHERN ADVENTIST UNIVERSITY
ACKERMAN AUDITORIUM, MABEL WOOD HALL
Pianist Andreas Klein will be in concert at Southern Adventist University on Monday, Oct. 21, at 7:30 p.m. in Mabel Wood Hall’s Ackerman Auditorium.
Klein has performed with professional groups such as the Minetti Quartet and the Casals Quartet.
Tickets are required, and will be sold at the door for $5.

Marimba soloist Dr. Andrew Harnsberger will present a recital Monday, Oct. 21, at 7:30 p.m. featuring his original compositions “Unbreakable” and “Vertigo.” Joining him during the free program will be guest percussionists Scott Herring, Caitlin Jones and Bailey Seabury.

The Chattanooga State Symphonic Band, under the direction of Nicholas Hartline, will perform selections for wind band on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 7:30 p.m.

The popular “Red Back Hymnal Night” returns to the Lee campus on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 7 p.m.
“Songs That Touch Our Hearts” will feature church favorites from the hymnal, which will be provided at the event. Lee President Paul Conn and wife Darlia will host the event, while Voices of Lee director Danny Murray will lead the congregation in singing cherished hymns.
Great singers from all over campus, the community and out-of-town will occupy the stage, according to Murray, who has directed this program each year since the Lee Chapel was dedicated in 2011.
Immediately following the program, there will be a reception in the John D. Nichols courtyard.
