‘THREE VIEWINGS’ OPENS FOR FOUR PERFORMANCES

Yellow Dragon Productions opens Jeffrey Hatcher’s play “Three Viewings” on Friday, Oct. 18, for four performances over two weekends. The play consists of three comic/dramatic monologues set in a Midwestern funeral parlor over a three-day Christmas weekend. The production is directed by Joel D. Scribner.

“Tell-Tale,” performed by Jerry Draper, is the story of Emil, the mild-mannered undertaker with an unspoken passion for a local real-estate woman who comes to all his funerals. This leads him to questionable behavior and a plot to confess his true feelings before time—and bodies— run out.

“The Thief of Tears” is performed by Jennifer Baggett. Mac, a beautiful Los Angeles drifter, makes her living from an unusual and macabre occupation. When her wealthy grandmother dies, Mac returns to her hometown and attempts to pry loose her inheritance, which is a diamond ring her grandmother promised Mac when she was a child. This attempt leads Mac to find there are more obstacles to getting the ring off grandma’s finger, and more revelations about her own past than she had bargained for.

“Thirteen Things About Ed Carpolotti,” performed by Jenny Bacon, is the story of Virginia, the widow of a wheeler-dealer contractor, who discovers that her husband has left her in debt. As Virginia struggles to escape her creditors, a mysterious list of 13 things embarrassing to Ed is offered to her if she can come up with a million dollars in three days. As the play ends, revelations occur that resurrect a love and trust thought lost forever.

This production is not suitable for children under 13 years of age.
