Girls Night Out with Sandi Patty

- STAFF REPORT

Sandi Patty, the female vocalist who holds the most awards in contemporary Christian music history, is coming to Collegedale on Saturday, Nov. 2, with longtime friend Sheila Walsh for a girls night out.

“Sandi Patty and Sheila Walsh: A Night of Hope, Friendship and Joy” will be held at Collegedale Community Church. The program is designed with messages of heartbreak, resilience and hope intermingled with songs to inspire the audience. Guests will hear how the two women have trusted God in the hardest times of their lives.

Walsh, from Scotland, is an author, Bible teacher and television host. She has sold more than 5 million copies of her latest book, “It’s Okay Not to Be Okay.” In February, she will release “Praying Women, How to Pray When You Don’t Know What to Say.”

She has spoken around the world to more than 6 million women and reaches a potential 100 million people daily as co-host of “Life Today” television program.

She lives in Texas with her husband and son.

Patty has more than 11 million units in sales, has won five Grammy Awards, four Billboard Music Awards and 40 Dove Awards.

She has three platinum and five gold records among her 30 albums, and she was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2004.

She recently concluded a world tour, “Forever Grateful: The Farewell Tour,” which she says will be the final large-scale tour of her career. She continues to appear in select specialty events, but has turned her focus toward mentorship of music and inspirational creatives.

In addition to her 30-year musical career, the singer is also an author of seven books. Her autobiography, “The Voice,” was released in November 2018. For “Broken on the Back Row,” Patty received the 2006 Silver Angel Award.

She and her husband reside in Oklahoma City. They have eight children and three grandchildren.
