Lee University will welcome Warp Trio for the next concert in its Performing Arts Series on Monday, Nov. 11, at 7:30 p.m. in Pangle Hall, 340 Church St. NE, in Cleveland, Tennessee.

This piano trio is an internationally touring, cross-genre chamber music ensemble. It combines original material, improvisation, dynamic interpretations of popular music and unique takes on classical favorites in its performances.

The trio is comprised of Mikael Darmanie, piano; Josh Henderson, violin; and Ju-Young Lee, cello. Rick Martinez joins the trio to add percussion.

Darmanie has performed throughout the Caribbean, Europe and the United States as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral conductor. He is currently a doctoral student of Gilbert Kalish at SUNY-Stony Brook, where he instructs undergraduate piano and music history.

Henderson enjoys a multifaceted career as a cross-genre violinist, violist, electric bassist and composer. He has served as a music director for Emmy Award-winning Damien Escobar, and has performed at numerous events across the globe, including a performance at the 2013 Hip-Hop Inaugural Ball honoring Barack Obama.

Lee has performed throughout Asia, Europe, North and South America with a yearly schedule of more than 200 performances. He is the founder of Warp Trio, principal cellist of Core Ensemble and guest principal with the Cape Cod Symphony. In addition to the classical field, he has collaborated on jazz, rock and country music albums.

Martinez is a New York City drummer, percussionist and composer. He has performed in genres ranging from classical to jazz to heavy metal throughout Asia, the Caribbean, Europe and the United States.
