SAVOR THE SEASON
Catch Bar & Grill makes a splash with seasonal recipes
When the sun strikes Catch’s front blue curtains the right way, it casts a billowy reflection against the brick walls, giving the impression of being underwater. It is an appropriate mood-setter, since Catch’s specialty is seafood.
Catch Bar & Grill truly is one of a kind. Now more than ever.
“Our new banquet space may be the only meeting space in Cleveland of its size that lends to total privacy,” said owner Michael Poore. The private dining hall, which opened this summer, can seat up to 80. It offers the same food and cocktail menu as Catch’s main seating area located just next door. When your party orders food, the space is free to reserve. It features a 3-D sculpted panel designed to resemble ocean waves against the length of one wall.
While Catch’s seaside vibe is fitting, don’t be fooled. The menu offers gourmet dishes for land lovers, too.
For example, this winter, Catch is debuting its new warm-belly recipe: a pimiento cheeseburger made with Angus meat topped with a fried green tomato and warm, house-made pimiento cheese. Other new seasonal eats include the “Coastal Platter” featuring fried cod, oysters, shrimp, clams and hushpuppies. The restaurant’s famous lobster ravioli is also back for a limited time.
On the sweet side, Catch is trading its cool summertime sorbet for warm bread pudding topped with raisin bourbon glaze and another holiday favorite: red velvet cake layered with cheesecake and smeared with vanilla bean cream cheese frosting.
It sounds decadent. Now that beach weather is over, why not indulge? Catch is never short on ways to treat yourself.
By the time you read this, it will likely be too late to get tickets to the restaurant’s annual Feast of the Seven Fishes seven-course wine dinner, scheduled for Dec. 6. However, you can still reserve your spot at its New Year’s Eve Dinner.
The prix fixe menu will feature a surf and turf entrée with a side of truffle asparagus and lobster Yukon potatoes. The meal includes a salad and dessert to share, all for $79.
So don your best underwater attire, and consider celebrating your season with Catch.
