Deanie McKenzie Hateley, 80, of Chattanoog­a, went home to be with her Lord and Savior after a long illness on Thursday, June 30, 2016, with her loving family by her side.

She was employed for 18 years with Barry of Chattanoog­a, and afterwards with Frost Cutlery.

Deanie was a lifetime member of Morris Hill Baptist Church and graduated from Tyner High School.

She loved her family, family gatherings, Christmas time with her grandchild­ren and loved traveling.

Her four daughters and grandchild­ren can’t express their love, appreciati­on and respect they have for you.

You will be greatly missed by your family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, who was the love of her life, Ernest (Leon) Hateley; Infant son, Eric Leon Hateley and her parents, Thomas Edwin McKenzie and Willie Caler McKenzie.

She is survived by her daughters, Vicki Hateley, Tami Blake, Leigh (Bruce) Phillips, and Tracey (Chris) Covington; seven grandchild­ren, Amber Hateley, Lyndsie and Lacie Blake, Joshua and Jake Phillips, Garren and Karys Covington; three great-grandchild­ren, Dalton, Luke, and Jasper Ramsey; sisters, Daphne McElhaney and Inez Jackson; brother, Billy Ralph McKenzie and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 3, 2016 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Royce Powell officiatin­g.

Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Her family would like to extend their deepest appreciati­on to Amedysis Home Health and Hospice for all their loving care and support during Deanie’s illness. We would like to say a special thanks to her caregivers, Irene McGuire, Amy Winkler, Kayla Davis and Dustee Pucillo.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. today, and from 1-2 p.m. Sunday, July 3, at Heritage Funeral Home 7454 E. Brainerd Road.
