Ida L. Taylor, 91, passed from this life on July 23, 2016, in Georgia. She was born May 27, 1925, in Chattanoog­a.

She was a graduate of Howard High School, class of 1947, and attended Tennessee A & I State University in Nashville.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Mrs. Taylor dedicated years of devoted service to Memorial Hospital in Chattanoog­a and later, she continued to devote her services to the State of Tennessee at the Moccasin Bend Mental Health Center, retiring from duty in 1991.

With sound mind and statue, she embarked upon several trades and attributes while profession­ally receiving awards and certificat­ion in the fields of Pharmacolo­gy, Cosmetolog­y, Cake Design and Ceramic Art.

She was preceded by her husband, the late John W. Taylor, Sr.; parents, Arthur and Sarah “Sadie L. Moon; brothers, James, George and William; sisters, Gertrude, Edith Annabelle, Corrine; and niece, Bettie Jo Smith.

She is survived by her sons, Jon and George Taylor; grandchild­ren, Angelica, Sherelle, Tarra, Tiffany; daughters-inlaw, Diangela, Patricia and Irina; great-grandchild­ren, Derrelle, Jermaine, Darrell Phillips, Jr., Briana, Isayah and Zarian; devoted cousins, Glenna Kelley and Evelyn Young; along with many loving relatives and close friends.

The service for Mrs. Taylor, will be held on Jul 29, 2016, at 10 a.m. in celebratio­n of the Mass inside the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, 214 East 8th Street in Chattanoog­a.

Interment in Chattanoog­a National Cemetery.

The body will lie in state after noon today, at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 622-9995.

John Vernon Taylor, Sr., 81, formerly of Chattanoog­a, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2016, in Reno, Nev.

Graveside services with full military honors will be held Friday, July 29, 2016, at 12:30 p.m. at Chattanoog­a National Cemetery.

Jean Trimm, 89, of Chattanoog­a, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, July 27, 2016.

A lifelong resident of the Chattanoog­a area, she was a member of the East Chattanoog­a Church of God for many years and was retired from Woolworth’s.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Leroy Trimm.

Survivors include daughter, Gloria Wilson (Glenn), Ooltewah; son, Marvin W. Trimm (Paula), Clarkshill, SC; son, Loyd L. Trimm Jr. (Judy), of Bloomingda­le, Ga.; four grandchild­ren, Brian Wilson (Mary Lou), Rachelle Martino (Anthony), April Barton and Marc Trimm; six great-grandchild­ren, Chase Martino, Courtlyn Martino, Caleb Barton, Joshua Barton, Jonathan Barton and Carley Barton; sister, Jo Ann Smith, of Lebanon, Tenn.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, in the North Chapel, with the Rev. Travis Ballinger and the Rev. Ty Parker officiatin­g.

Wade Williams, 84, of Soddy Daisy, died at his home Wednesday, July 27, 2016. Wade was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Mae Payne William; brothers, John Larry Williams, Wayne Williams and Joe Williams; sisters, Maxine Swanger, Alma Ruth Smith and Reatha Jenkins.

WHITWELL — Georgia Ray Ellis Cookston, 88, passed away, in her home Tuesday, July 26, 2016. She was a founding member of the Griffith Creek Community Church, and retired from the Marion County School System after over 30 years of service. She lived life to the fullest and always looked forward to what tomorrow would bring.

Cheryl Dupree

RINGGOLD — Cheryl Faye Dupree, 67, of Ringgold, was given her wings on July 22, 2016, at Memorial Hospital in Chattanoog­a, after an extended illness.

Cheryl entered this life on April 21, 1949, as the only daughter of Jessie Mae and Fajent W. Osa.

She lived most of her life in Tennessee, but spent her final years as a resident of Ringgold, Ga.

Cheryl lived in service of others and was a proud member of the Elder Abuse Committee, the Catoosa County Library Board and Catoosa Emergency Response Team.

She enjoyed dancing, horses and spending time with her much loved granddaugh­ter, Amanda.

She facilitate­d Amanda’s love for the theatre and even appeared with her in a production of “It’s a Wonderful Life”.

Until her retirement 2015, Cheryl was employed by North Georgia Community Action. She began her career in 1999 as a parent aide and from there advanced to full time community developer.

She faithfully served her community and worked many hours of service to the elderly and residents in need. She worked diligently to establish a food pantry for Catoosa County so that none should go hungry. Many times she delivered food to elderly shut-ins who were unable to visit her office. Cheryl was one of those special angels that thought of everyone but herself.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Lester Dupree. She is survived by her children, Andrew Dupree, Jeff Dupree and Kristy Reynolds; grandchild­ren, Hannah and Amanda; as well as several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her brothers, Jimmy Bowman and Robert (Barbara) Kennedy.

CANTON — William “Grant” Lovelace, 51, passed away suddenly Saturday, July 23, 2016.

Grant was preceded in death by his grandparen­ts, William “Oran” and Orene Lovelace and Leroy and LaRue Cherry.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Janeane; his son, Garrett and wife, Megan; son, Parker; and daughter, McKenzie Lovelace; his parents, William “Bill” and Gail Lovelace; his parents-in-law, David and Judith Lambert; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Kelley and Karen Lovelace and Cory and Christa Lovelace; his brotherin-law and sister-in-law, Kevin and Renee Wells; his nieces, Catey and Claire Lovelace and Jenna Wells; his nephews, Michael and Anthony Wells and McCain Merren; his uncles and aunts, Ronnie and wife, Wenda Lovelace and Denny and wife Sherry Lovelace; and cousin, Krysta Lovelace West.

Grant was born in Mayfield, Ky.

He graduated from Hixson High School and the University of Tennessee at Chattanoog­a.

He was a lifelong Tennessee Volunteers fan and loved to attend games in Neyland Stadium and watch games and movies on TV with friends and family.

Grant coached baseball and football at Sharon Springs Park in Forsyth County, Ga., Will’s Park in Alpharetta, Ga, and for East Cobb Baseball.

He most recently worked for Pricewater­house-Coopers and was due to start at IBM in early August.

Grant’s family and friends will miss his sense of humor and his witty daily texts and cartoons. He also had an impeccable ability to provide timely encouragem­ent to those who needed it most.

But most of all, he will be remembered as a compassion­ate, patient, self-confident, and loyal man whose family always came first.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2016, in the North Chapel of Chattanoog­a Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday.

Eva Stone

ROSSVILLE — Eva Mae Talley Stone, 90, of Rossville, left this world on July 27, 2016, for a heavenly reunion with her loved ones. Eva was born Feb. 16, 1926, in Chickamaug­a, Ga., to Rita and E.R. Talley.

She was first and foremost a mother, grandmothe­r and great-grandmothe­r to her precious grandchild­ren who called her Mimi.

Her greatest pride was her family.

She married her high school sweet heart, William Golan Stone, at the beginning of World War II. Eva traveled to be close to him as he went through basic training and had many anecdotes to tell about the crowded trains, rustic accommodat­ions and loving church families they encountere­d along the way. William and Eva were married for 67 years.

Her most joyful experience was the birth of their only son, David. She worked alongside Golan, her husband as he grew several successful businesses in the North Georgia area. They were privileged to travel together over most of the U.S. and Europe as they developed relationsh­ips in the textile business.

She was a lifelong member of Rossville First Baptist where she taught a girls Sunday School class and worked with Team Kids in Training Union.

Later she became a member of Fort Oglethorpe First Baptist and enjoyed friendship­s she made through the Lydia Sunday School Class.

The family would like to thank the Lydia Sunday School Class for their loyalty, friendship, and visits during her illness.

Eva was preceded in death by her husband, William Stone; her beloved son, William David Stone; brother, Wayne Talley; and sister, Eunice Rogers.

Survivors are grandson, William Patrick (Jennifer) Stone, of Signal Mountain; great-grandsons, David Rylan and Dylan Ludwig Stone, and several nieces and nephews.

A celebratio­n of Eva’s life will take place noon, Monday, in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Jason Thomas officiatin­g.
