Troy Burns Family set for Smokehouse Gospel show

The Smokehouse Gospel Music Dinner Theater series continues tonight, July 28, in Monteagle, Tenn., with Troy Burns Family and Erica Cookston performing.

Shows are held at Jim Oliver’s Smokehouse Resort, and tickets include a buffet dinner.

The North Carolina-based Troy Burns Family takes its name from one of the founding members and former lead singer of The Inspiratio­ns. In addition to his TBF duties, Burns doubles as lead singer of Archie Watkins & Smoky Mountain Reunion. Troy Burns Family also features Burns’ wife, Tammy, and Shane Mathis. Cookston is a young gospel singer from North Alabama.

Still to come in the series are Tammy Jones Robinette with Noah Hinshaw on Sept. 15 and The Lore Family with Randy and Wendi Pierce on Oct. 27. Tickets are $18.50 for adults, $10 ages 2-10.
