Back-to-School Outreach
What’s even better than tax-free school supplies? Completely free school supplies. Two Chattanooga churches have announced plans to help the next two weekends.
Saturday, July 30: Celebration Church, a nondenominational Christian organization affiliated with ICCM World Ministries (International Congress of Churches & Ministers) at 6425 Lee Highway, will give away supplies during a cookout for area families from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Free school supplies and backpacks will be available to all children, but families must register to assure sufficient quantities. Call 423-296-8215 or email info@iccmworldwide.org. The event also will include live music, games and prize drawings.
Saturday, Aug. 6: A Back to School Bash organized by Menlo Park Community Outreach will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at Greater Emmanuel Church, 400 Tunnel Blvd. The event will provide free school supplies to children in kindergarten through 12th grade. Families will be entertained with free food, water rides, free haircuts, manicures, face painting, bounce houses and backpack giveaways.
