LOOKOUTS 4, SUNS 2

A truly wild three-run seventh inning gave Chattanooga the lead. Tanner Witt was hit by a pitch from just-in Jacksonville reliever Travis Ballew and then stole second and took third when Levi Michael reached base on a wild-pitch strikeout. Zach Granite’s sacrifice fly to left field broke a 1-1 tie; then Engelb Vielma was hit by a pitch, Niko Goodrum singled and Michael scored on Edgar Corcino’s walk, followed by Vielma scoring when Travis Harrison was hit by a pitch. Only a double-play grounder by Stuart Turner, who singled in the Lookouts’ sixth-inning run, kept Ballew from further punishment. Felix Jorge worked seven innings for the pitching win, followed by a scoreless, one-hit inning apiece from Luke Bard and Zack Jones.

Next game: Game one of a five-game series against Mississippi at AT&T Field is at 7:15 tonight.

Pitchers: Stephen Gonsalves (7-1, 1.78 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Lookouts, with Patrick Weigel (0-1, 3.38) scheduled for the Braves.
