Cult choice

A boy bonds with an alien robot despite government efforts to destroy it in the 1999 animated feature “The Iron Giant” (10:10 p.m. tonight, HBO Family), featuring the voices of Jennifer Aniston, Eli Marienthal, Harry Connick Jr. and Vin Diesel. A thoughtful and original film, “Giant” was a critical darling that never found a large audience.
