HOT BIKE TOUR downshifts into Chattanoog­a

A five-day, two-state tour presented by Hot Bike Magazine ends Sunday, Sept. 11, in Chattanoog­a.

Riders on the Geico Motorcycle Hot Bike Tour will complete their 1,000-mile journey at Coker Tire downtown with an afternoon block party that includes a ride-in bike show for local enthusiast­s (all makes and models welcome) and a concert by Joe Lasher Jr.

Spawned from the pages of Hot Bike, Baggers and Street Chopper magazines, the ride includes editors, photograph­ers, 28 top pro builders and hundreds of casual riders.

The builders have constructe­d one-of-a-kind, custom motorcycle­s that they’ll be riding on the tour. Voting on their creations will be open to all riders and spectators.

The ride began Wednesday, Sept. 7, in Asheville, N.C., travels into Maggie Valley, N.C., today, Sept. 8, and spends Friday and Saturday, Sept. 9-10, in Maryville, Tenn., before finishing up in Chattanoog­a.

A LongRiders ceremony, recognizin­g those who ride from start to finish, will be included at the grand finale.

The block party also includes giveaways, a beer garden, Manufactur­ers Midway and Steel-Horse Alley. A stunt bike street team will perform at 1:30 and 3 p.m.

Lasher is scheduled to take the stage at 2 and 3:30 p.m. His EP “Jack to Jesus” featured the radio single “Tap a Little Tail Light.” He has played shows with Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts, Thomas Rhett and Montgomery Gentry, among others.
