All Aboard for Sculpture event raises funds for Sculpture Fields
Partygoers raising funds for the outdoor art museum Sculpture Fields will take a trip through time — back to the Roaring ’20s — at All Aboard for Sculpture on Friday, Sept. 16.
A different country is highlighted at All Aboard each year. This fourth iteration celebrates the American sculptor in 1920s style.
The event’s pre-party takes place among the 32 pieces of large-scale sculpture on-site at Sculpture Fields with cocktails, performers, cars and music reminiscent of an earlier era.
Next comes dinner aboard a Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum train, then a speakeasy at the studio home of John and Pamela Henry.
“Funds raised at this event will support education and programming at Sculpture Fields,” says Executive Director Cathy Clifford. “Visitors to the park are always treated to a fantastic blend of art and greenspace, but the education and programming will give visitors of all ages a deeper and more meaningful experience.”
Sculptures by Ray Katz, Michael Hall, Dennis Oppenheim and Albert Paley were added to the exhibition in August.
“Sculpture Fields has excellent examples of various types of sculpture found in public spaces throughout the country,” says John Henry, founder and chairman of the board. “It will continue to be an outdoor museum of this genre of art as well as examples of three-dimensional art from around the world.”
Tickets are $250 per person, and tables of four can be reserved. Price includes the pre-party in the park, dinner aboard the train and the studio speakeasy. Seating is limited; reservations are first-come, firstserved.
The park is open seven days a week from dawn until dusk with free admission. However, the park will close at 5 p.m. on the day of the event.
