A Louisiana man charged with killing his parents and trying to dissolve their bodies in acid at their West Knox County home last November has been indicted by a Knox County grand jury on five counts, according to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.

Joel Michael Guy Jr., 28, of Baton Rouge, was indicted Wednesday on two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of abusing a corpse and one count of felony murder, according to a post Thursday on the sheriff’s office Facebook page.

He is charged with firstdegree murder in the deaths of his parents, 61-year-old Joel Michael Guy Sr. and 55-yearold Lisa Guy, at their home on Goldenview Lane in West Knox County.

Police said Guy drove to Knoxville a week before the killings took place to join his parents and three adult sisters for one last Thanksgiving dinner at the West Knox County home his parents recently had sold at 11434 Goldenview Lane. Afterward, his sisters returned to their homes in Maryville and Kingsport.

Sometime between Friday night, Nov. 25, and midday Saturday, Guy attacked his parents with a knife, possibly tortured them and dismembered their bodies and left their remains in various rooms of the 2,256-squarefoot home, according to the sheriff’s office.

He also is accused of placing portions of the remains in an acid-based solution in an attempt to destroy evidence.

He was arrested Nov. 29 at his apartment complex in Baton Rouge and is being held in the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility on a $2 million bond.
