Fix intersection at Bonny Oaks, I-75
At the intersection of westbound Bonny Oaks Drive and I-75, motorists may turn left onto the ramp to I-75 South on a left-turn green arrow, which goes off after a few seconds while those proceeding west on Bonny Oaks have a long green light. Why? It is not a “visibility” issue: The view of oncoming traffic on eastbound Bonny Oaks is clear for a considerable distance.
Motorists should be permitted to make an (unprotected) left turn after the arrow goes off, until all westbound traffic has a red light — or install flashing yellow left-turn signals such as those installed on Highway 153 in Hixson. The state says the city is in charge, and the city doesn’t respond to requests to change the signal. Someone please fix this. Steve Beckham Ooltewah
