Area retailers mark Independen­t Book Store Day with events

Star Line Books, 1467 Market St., will be among 400 book stores nationwide celebratin­g Independen­t Book Store Day on Saturday, April 29. Several in-house events have been planned at Star Line between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday. All are free.

› 11 a.m. 75th anniversar­y of Little Golden Book story hour.

› 11:30 a.m. Make your own Little Golden Book.

› 1 p.m. Reading with Hannah Rials, author of “Ascension.”

› 3 p.m. Reading with David Connis, author of the upcoming young adult novel, “Temptation of Adam.”

› 3:30 p.m. Music with David Connis, from “Looking for Eden,” the accompanyi­ng album to “Temptation of Adam.”

› 4:30-6 p.m. Wine and Words literary games for ages 21 and older.

In addition, there will be a photo booth, refreshmen­ts, art projects, a bookstore scavenger hunt, swag bags for the first 10 customers who come in the store that day, hourly raffles and limited-edition books.

› Books Never-Ending: Owner Danielle Hargis is offering a sales discount to mark Independen­t Book Store Day.

Customers who buy one to four books, new or used, will get 20 percent off their total purchase. Buy five to nine books and get 30 percent off; 10 or more and the discount will be 40 percent.

Books Never-Ending is located at 5375 Highway 136 in Trenton, Ga.
