Chambliss Center for Children Benefits From Keller Williams RED Day

-

Chattanooga, TN . . . Nearly 115 Keller Williams Greater Downtown Realty agents and employees came to the Chambliss Center for Children campus today for their annual RED Day.

“We always look forward to the Keller Williams group coming out to volunteer,” said Virginia Rushton, Director of Volunteer Services for Chambliss Center for Children. “Some have been coming here for RED Day for several years, while others are here for the first time. They always have a great time working as a team to get all our projects done.”

Introduced in 2009, RED Day, which stands for Renew, Energize and Donate, is Keller Williams Realty’s annual day of service. Each year on the second Thursday of May, associates spend the day away from their businesses serving worthy organizations and causes in their communities. The volunteers who came to Chambliss Center for Children tackled interior projects such as cleaning, painting, replacing ceiling tiles and organizing files. Exterior projects included pressure washing sidewalks, painting pavilions, mulching playgrounds, trimming hedges and cleaning the pool.

“We earn our money from this community, and this is a day for us to be very intentional about giving back,” said Nathan Brown with Keller Williams. “We choose Chambliss because their child care center provides a safe, loving place for children while their parents are at work or school. And, their Residential Program is providing homes for many children and young adults through foster homes, the group home and their new transitional living. That means a lot to us.”

Chambliss Center for Children is a local non-profit organization that has been caring for this community’s children 24-hours-a-day, 365-daysa-year for 145 years. The mission of the agency is to preserve family unity and to help prevent the dependency, neglect, abuse and delinquency of children by responding to the community’s child care needs. This is done by providing affordable, accessible and quality care for over 650 children every day through an Early Childhood Education and Extended Child Care Program, as well as a Residential Program, which recruits and trains foster families and operates a group home for children in state custody. In addition to these two programs, the agency also manages five off-site childcare centers and educates and cares for the young children of teachers in eleven Hamilton County Schools.
