Cleveland State students earn awards
Members of Omega Omicron chapter of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society at Cleveland State Community College brought home multiple awards from two conferences.
PTK members and advisers competed in the Hallmarks of Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Fellowship at the Phi Theta Kappa International Catalyst Conference and the Tennessee Regional Conference, both held in Nashville.
At the regional conference, the chapter won first-place awards for Distinguished Chapter and Distinguished College Project, and second for Distinguished Honors in Action Project. Brianna Riley was first in Distinguished Chapter Officer Hallmark Award. Seth Bush was third in the Distinguished Chapter Member Hallmark Award division.
PTK adviser Karen Dale received the Paragon Faculty Hallmark Award. Dale is the only faculty scholar from Tennessee and one of just 30 internationally. She will lead seminars this summer at Honors Institute, which will be held on the campus of Loyola University in Chicago.
At the PTK International Catalyst Conference, the chapter took the following awards: Brianna Riley, Distinguished Chapter Officer; Mikaela Broling, Coca-Cola Leader of Promise; Distinguished Chapter Award, Distinguished College Project Award and was named a Top 100 Chapter Internationally.
For its commitment to chapter development, the chapter achieved Five Star Level, the highest development distinction that can be earned.
