GOLF

› GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Lexi Thompson shot a 64 Saturday on the Blythefield Country Club layout — reduced to a par of 69 because of flooding — and held a one-stroke lead after three rounds at the Meijer LPGA Classic. The fifth hole was played as a par 3 instead of a par 5 because of flooding from overnight rain, with the start of the third round delayed two hours. Coming off a playoff loss to topranked Ariya Jutanugarn

last weekend, Thompson had six birdies and a bogey to reach 15-under 196. Brooke Henderson,

the leader after each of the first two rounds, had a 67 to drop into a tie for second with Lee-Anne Pace (61), Sung Hyun Park (62) and Jenny Shin

(63). Former Baylor School standout Brooke Pancake

shot a 68 for the second straight day and was at 3-under 208, tied for 47th.

BASEBALL

› CINCINNATI — Pete Rose tugged on the edge of the tarp and slowly unveiled a bigger-thanlife sculpture of one of his headfirst slides, revealing it from the airborne cleats to the ground-scraping elbows: The Reds’ banished hits king was finally in bronze. On a sizzling afternoon, thousands of fans packed the entrance to Great American Ball Park for the latest tribute to their favorite baseball son as the Cincinnati native became the eighth Reds star honored with a sculpture outside the ballpark. “It’s just an honor to be on the same block with these guys,” said Rose, who is banned from consideration for the National Baseball Hall of Fame because he bet on baseball. With Major League Baseball’s permission, the Reds have spent the past few years catching up on honoring their most famous — and most controversial — player. Last June, they inducted him into the team’s Hall of Fame and retired his No. 14 in front of capacity crowds.

› BALTIMORE — Sidelined with a right oblique strain, Chris Davis can’t seem to get comfortable lying down or sitting in a chair. He went on the 10-day disabled list Tuesday, and it will likely be after the All-Star break before the Baltimore Orioles first baseman is ready to swing a bat in a bigleague game again. “I think three weeks would be real ambitious,” manager Buck Showalter said Saturday. “I’d sign up for that right now.” Davis, who hit 164 home runs from 2013 to last season, leads the Orioles with 14 homers this year but has struck out 95 times in 217 at-bats.

FOOTBALL

› CLEVELAND — Rookie defensive end Myles Garrett has a sprained left foot but is expected to be ready when the Browns start training camp next month. The No. 1 overall pick in this year’s NFL draft injured his foot late in practice Wednesday. The Browns waited until Garrett received a second opinion before providing an update Saturday. The Browns recently signed the former Texas A&M star to a four-year, $30.4 million contract.
