A shooting suspect who was re-indicted on an attempted murder charge was accidentally released from the Fulton County jail this week, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Lamar Hillard was arrested in a Feb. 6 shooting at Sandy Spring strip club the Dollhouse and indicted on Feb. 17 for his alleged involvement in the shooting, the station reported. He was re-indicted in June to refine the previous indictment.

Fulton County jail officials said a staffer in the records section saw the February indictment as “nolle prossed,” which means it was dropped. But the jailer missed the handwritten note indicating Hillard had been re-indicted.

An FBI agent was notified of Hillard’s release through the victim notification system and alerted local authorities, Channel 2 reported. A warrant was issued for Hilliard’s re-arrest. He was captured by Ohio State Patrol during a traffic stop Wednesday, according to the station.

Fulton County jail officials said they have since ordered two new safeguards to prevent a similar incident from happening.

Hillard and Anthony Lloyd face aggravated assault and attempted murder charges in the strip club shooting after police say they cornered a customer, Dameion Saunders, and opened fire. Saunders told police he’d been receiving threatening messages that evening over money. A third person, Mary Israilova, faces an accessory charge.

Saunders is suing the strip club for negligent security.
