A drug task force agent showed up to a home at the end of a dirt road in Rossville, trying to serve a warrant against a man on a 2016 methamphetamine distribution charge.

When he arrived, according to an incident report, the agent found the man — plus some more methamphetamine, packaged to be sold, and several digital scales, each with drug residue on it. And four guns: a .40-caliber Ruger, a .38-caliber Derringer, a .223 rifle and a 12-gauge shotgun.

Agent Matt Cole then arrested Dusty LeeRay Scott on July 5 on charges of possession of meth with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. He is being held at the Walker County Jail without a bond.

Police previously arrested Scott in May 2016 on a charge of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, as well as speeding, fleeing from police, running a stop sign and reckless driving. According to an arrest warrant at the time, a Walker County sheriff’s deputy found Scott driving about 18 mph above the speed limit on Battlefield Parkway.

The deputy said he saw Scott weave into oncoming traffic before turning onto Schmidt Road. The deputy followed him to his mother’s house on Bragg Circle. There, according to the report, the deputy arrested him and searched the car, allegedly finding a plastic bag with methamphetamine, a couple of glass pipes, a digital scale and $567 in cash.

According to the Walker County Clerk of Court’s website, Scott was due in court for that case March 29. Two days later, the judge issued a bench warrant, typically the result for a defendant skipping a court date.

But last week, when Cole found Scott at 118 Angland Road, he said he found drugs and guns to charge him again. Three other people also were charged.

According to the arrest warrant affidavit, 42-year-old Carrie Suzanne Davenport, 26-year-old Dewayne Legarald Enlow and 42-year-old Leah Hope Farmer were sitting on a couch in the living room with Scott when Cole arrived. He asked them all to step outside as the house was searched, after a judge issued an arrest warrant.

Cole said he found methamphetamine and pipes on the couches where they had been sitting. He also said he found methamphetamine and marijuana inside Farmer’s bag. He charged all three with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, tacking on a possession of marijuana charge against Farmer.

Davenport and Enlow received bonds of $5,000. Farmer received a bond of $5,835. She and Enlow left jail on Sunday. Davenport got out Saturday.

According to the Walker County property appraiser, a woman in Etowah, Tenn., owns the land where the arrest occurred.
