Motorcycle ride, concert to pay tribute to Fallen Five
The city of Chattanooga is sponsoring a concert featuring two local bands to celebrate the memory of the Fallen Five on Sunday, July 16, at 5 p.m. at Fry Pavilion in the Tennessee Riverpark, 4301 Amnicola Highway.
Scarlet Love Conspiracy and Subkonscious will perform two sets of mostly cover songs at the event in memory of Gunnery Sgt. Thomas Sullivan, Sgt. Carson Holmquist, Lance Cpl. Skip Wells, Staff Sgt. David Wyatt and Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Randall Smith. The five were killed in a domestic terror attack in Chattanooga on July 16, 2015.
“The families all said they wanted this to be a celebration of life, so we are going to mostly cover up [cover songs by other artists],” said Carl Foshay of Subkonscious.
Nori Moss, communications coordinator for the city of Chattanooga’s Youth and Family Development, said the event is free and open to the community.
“We’re encouraging families to bring blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the entertainment and brief program. We are celebrating the lives of our servicemen, our communities and families,” Moss says.
The event will include patriotic crafts, kids activities, food for sale and animals from the Chattanooga Zoo, in addition to the music. ›
