GIRLS’ TEAMS TO WATCH

1. Signal Mountain: The fivetime Class A/AA state-championship program did not win region last year. Senior Taylor Gardner and junior Lindsey Hollis lead the quest for atonement.

2. Boyd-Buchanan: With two players, Lydia Campbell and Zacori Hill, the Lady Bucs finished fourth at last year’s Class A/AA state tournament. The two are back for their junior seasons.

3. GPS: The Bruisers must deal with the Frist sisters at DII-AA East/Middle champ and state runner-up Ensworth. GPS seniors McKenzie Frizzell and Hannah Prescott lead that battle.
