Parkridge East names assistant nursing chief

Lynn Whelan has been named assistant chief nursing officer at Parkridge East Hospital. Dr. Whelan returns to the area after leadership positions at healthcare facilities in Houston, Texas, and Atlanta.

Most recently, Whelan served as chief nursing officer at Foundation Hospital of Houston. Prior to that, she was ACNO at Emory Healthcare, in Atlanta. At Emory, Whelan oversaw cardiac and procedural services areas. She served as service line administra­tor in Medicine and was director of Critical Care Services at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta.

Whelan earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from The University of Alabama, where she graduated summa cum laude. She also earned nursing degrees from Emory University and Kennesaw College, now Kennesaw State University.
