SAVANNAH, Tenn. — Prosecutors in the Holly Bobo case have filed a notice that they have two experts scheduled to testify about skeletal remains and a revolver connected to the case.

The experts — Hugh Berryman of Middle Tennessee State University and Dana Medlin of EAG Laboratories in Omaha, Neb. — are expected to testify in Zachary Adams’ trial, which is scheduled to begin Saturday with jury selection and opening statements on Monday.

Berryman is the director at the Forensic Institute for Research and Education and an expert in forensic anthropology. Court documents say he is expected to testify about the remains that were identified as Bobo’s. Those skeletal remains include a skull, which was found in Decatur County

in September 2014.

Medlin, a metallurgical engineer, is expected to testify on the analysis of an Arminius .32-caliber revolver. The revolver was found in May, and prosecutors have called the gun “a critical piece of evidence” in the trial.

Adams is charged with especially aggravated kidnapping, aggravated rape and first-degree felony murder in Bobo’s death.

Bobo, a 20-year-old nursing student from Decatur County, was reported missing in April 2011. Adams is the first of three co-defendants scheduled for trial in connection with her death.

Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.
