Bluegrass festival at Circle E Ranch

- BY SUSAN PIERCE STAFF WRITER

David Parmley & Cardinal Tradition along with Terry Baucom & Dukes of Drive are headlining a two-day bluegrass festival this weekend at Circle E Ranch in Belvidere, Tenn., just outside of Winchester, Tenn.

“Terry is a renowned banjo player who played with Ricky Skaggs and Doyle Lawson before getting back in the circuit with his own band, Dukes of Drive,” says Cindy Pinion of Forever Bluegrass, who has organized this festival Friday and Saturday, Sept. 8-9, at the guest ranch.

Pinion says she met Circle E’s owner almost a decade ago at a bluegrass party. They struck up a conversation about putting on bluegrass festivals “and two years later he called and asked me to help organize one at his ranch,” she says.

This will be the sixth annual bluegrass festival at Circle E. Pinion says music will start at 1 p.m. CDT each day, and she will be the shows’ emcee.

Bring a lawn chair to enjoy the music of seven acts over two days. There are 240 campsites on the property, log cabins, 120 miles of horseback-riding trails and a restaurant on-site.

Tickets are $25 for Friday, $35 for Saturday. Buy
