KNOXVILLE — Staff writer Rob Harvey examines the scoring drives from Tennessee’s 42-7 win over Indiana State on Saturday:

FIRST QUARTER

TN—Ty Chandler 91-yard kickoff return (Aaron Medley kick), 14:46

Key play: Normal kickoff returner Evan Berry was not on the field but that didn’t matter as Chandler, a freshman, went untouched to the end zone on the game’s opening play.

TENNESSEE 7, INDIANA STATE 0

TN—Carlin Fils-aime 4-yard run (Medley kick), 2:49

Drive: 11 plays, 81 yards, 4:57 Key play: After a facemask penalty put the Vols in first-and-25, Quinten Dormady completed a 17-yard pass to Eli Wolf on third down to keep the possession alive. The Vols used a combo of John Kelly and Fils-aime on the drive. TENNESSEE 14, INDIANA STATE 0

SECOND QUARTER

TN: Fils-aime 30-yard run (Medley kick), 9:03

Drive: 5 plays, 60 yards, 1:37 Key play: Jarrett Guarantano completed his first pass as a Vol, a 17-yard screen to Kelly. The Vols relied heavily on the run game again, using three running backs on this drive.

Drive: 4 plays, 36 yards, 0:48 Key play: The two-minute drill was made a lot easier for the Vols as Marquez Calloway took the Indiana State punt 32 yards to the Sycamores’ 36. From there, the Vols stayed in the air for every play. TENNESSEE 28 INDIANA STATE 0

THIRD QUARTER

ISU: Jacquet McClendon 23-yard pass from Cade Sparks (Jerry Nunez kick), 10:07 Drive: 4 plays, 33 yards, 1:55 Key play: The Sycamores began the drive in great field position on the Vols’ 33 after Rex Mosley knocked the ball out of Dormady’s hand and recovered. TENNESSEE 28 INDIANA STATE 7

TN: Marquez Calloway 37-yard pass from Dormady (Medley kick), 2:12

Drive: 4 plays, 50 yards, 1:44 Key play: After consecutiv­e turnovers, the touchdown pass got the Vols and Dormady back on track. The catch was Calloway’s third TD reception of the season. TENNESSEE 35 INDIANA STATE 7

FOURTH QUARTER

TN: Jeff George 11-yard pass from Jarrett Guarantano (Medley kick), 0:56

Drive: 12 plays, 66 yards, 5:15 Key play: The scoring play was both George’s first touchdown reception of his UT career and Guarantano’s first touchdown pass as a Vol. The Vols also used Trey Coleman and Tim Jordan on the ground on the drive. TENNESSEE 42 INDIANA STATE 7
