It’s not unsual for a large arts and crafts show to draw visitors over multiple decades, but it certainly is for a church fair.

The Rock Spring Show and Sell marks its 48th year on Saturday, Sept. 30. It’s held rain or shine at Rock Spring United Methodist Church, 3477 Peavine Road, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Show and Sell has built from its grass-roots start to a community event with more than 75 crafters, a tractor show, music, hayrides, and lots of festival foods from fried pies to funnel cakes.

Chattanooga Market will be full of pageantry on Sunday as ArtsBuild, city of Chattanooga and Hamilton County, in partnership with Chattanooga State’s International Community Outreach Office, co-host Culture Fest, a celebration of the diverse cultures that make up this city.

Culture Fest will be held during regular market hours of 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at First Tennessee Pavilion, 1826 Carter St.

Featured activities and entertainment will include live performances from local cultural groups, a Parade of Nations, multicultural displays from several countries, dance contest and an art exhibition.

Dollywood is decked out for fall and opens this weekend for its Southern Gospel and Harvest Festival. New this year is LumiNights, when thousands of carved, illuminated jack-o-lanterns are featured decorations in Timber Canyon of the theme park. It’s the largest addition ever made to Dollywood’s fall festival.

Nearly three dozen craftsmen will be demonstrating and selling their work at the Pigeon Forge theme park, including Gregory and Sylvia Warren of Dunlap, Tenn., and Susan Parry of Signal Mountain.
