Chef Jon Ashton brings flavor to Savor
Chef shows you how to make the most of meals in Sunday’s cooking show

At Savor Live, the cooking show sponsored by the Chattanooga Times Free Press that is taking place Sunday, Oct. 22, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Tivoli Theatre.
Get cooking with celebrity chef Jon Ashton, who blends ingredients with laughs during his informative cooking demonstrations. Joining the chef onstage will be Times Free Press columnist Barry Courter to keep the conversation rolling.
Born in Liverpool, England, Ashton learned to cook from his grandmother. He began his culinary career working in British restaurants, among them the Derby Lodge Hotel’s French restaurant and The Kirkfield Hotel’s restaurant, before appearing on British cooking shows.
After building a reputation in Great Britain, he moved to Florida with $2,000 in his pocket.
He began producing and starring in his own local-access TV show, which aired in the Disney
town of Celebration, and it wasn’t too long before he was offered the job of mid-day chef at Orlando’s Fox affiliate. A year later he was a guest on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” which led to regular appearances on NBC’s “Today Show.”
He is currently food correspondent for the nationally syndicated morning show, “The Daily Buzz.” He is also the in-house chef for Relish magazine.
